New Yamaha Electric Scooter Spied Testing: Based On River Indie

The new Yamaha electric scooter, which will be based on the River's Indie model has been spied testing on Bengaluru roads. The spy shots of Yamaha's upcoming electric scooter hint at a major styling overhaul, despite its underpinnings clearly tracing back to the River Indie. Shared elements like the swingarm design, 14-inch wheels, and the 6-inch colour LCD display layout suggest platform commonality, but visually, the scooter takes a very different route. One of the most notable changes is the tail lamp, now placed higher and featuring a redesigned layout. The side panels have also been reshaped, offering a more sculpted look and exposing more of the rear wheel and suspension setup for a sportier appearance.

At the front, the apron gets a complete redesign, wrapping around the sides more aggressively than before. The headlamp unit, though reminiscent of the Indie's vertical layout, seems to be a new design with tighter spacing between the LED elements, further underlining Yamaha's effort to give this scooter its own identity.
