Suzuki e-Access Electric Launch Next Month

Suzuki e-Access

Recognising that a strong EV ecosystem is key to adoption, Suzuki will equip all of its dealerships with standard EV charging setups. Additionally, fast-charging hubs will be rolled out in the top 30 EV markets across India, promising shorter charging times and added convenience for users. These hubs will also feature specialised EV tools and trained technicians, reinforcing Suzuki's intent to offer strong aftersales support. While the Suzuki e-Access has been handed out for reviews and media drives, the launch is likely to happen next month, where the price will be finally revealed.

While performance matters, Suzuki has clearly focused on convenience for Indian buyers. The underseat storage is roomy enough for a half-face helmet and essentials, while the flat floorboard allows riders to carry larger items such as laptop bags. Small but useful features include dual bag hooks and a USB charging port, enhancing its commuter-friendly appeal.

In terms of ride comfort, the e-Access is supported by telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock, ensuring stability on bumpy roads. Braking duties are handled by a front disc and rear drum setup, striking a balance between safety and cost. The long, flat seat ensures it can comfortably seat two adults, addressing one of the biggest requirements for Indian families.

Powertrain & Range

At the heart of the e-Access sits a 3.07 kWh LFP battery pack, paired with a swingarm-mounted 4.1 kW motor. This setup gives the scooter a respectable top speed of 71 kmph and an IDC-rated range of 95 km, well-suited for daily commutes. Charging takes 4 hours and 30 minutes to go from 0-80%, a figure that should cater to most urban riders.

Suzuki e-Access

When launched, the Suzuki e-Access will enter a hotly contested segment already dominated by names like the TVS iQube, Ather Rizta, and Honda Activa Electric. What could tilt the scales in Suzukis favour is its focus on practicality, trusted brand value, and an expanding EV-ready dealership network, all of which are crucial for buyers moving to electric for the first time.

Verdict

The upcoming Suzuki e-Access promises to be more than just an electric alternative to petrol scooters, it looks set to be a well-rounded commuter that balances practicality, performance, and ease of ownership. With a competitive range, thoughtful features, and a strong dealership-backed charging network, Suzuki is entering the EV race with a product that feels tailor-made for India's urban needs. However, its forever arch rival the Activa is also here to keep that rivalry heat flaming hot.
