Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric Nears Production Ready Form- New Pics!

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • RE Himalayan Electric spied in production ready form
  • Papped at an invite-only event for feedback from top riders internationally
  • Will be the most powerful Royal Enfield bike yet

Royal Enfield is inching closer to its electric future, and the spotlight is firmly on the upcoming Himalayan Electric, also known internally as the Him-e. After earlier teasers of camouflaged prototypes in Ladakh with top executives in the saddle, fresh spy images now reveal multiple production-ready units being tested in Himachal Pradesh. Unlike the earlier isolated sightings, this time a full fleet of test bikes was spotted, giving us the clearest indication yet that the Himalayan Electric is headed for a global unveiling sooner rather than later. Read on to find out what all we could extract from the images, but before that, make sure to join the 91wheels WhatsApp Community, specifically curated for petrolheads like us to keep up with the latest news and automotive updates.

Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric: A Global Test Program In Action

Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric Spotted Testing In Large Numbers

The latest test run of the RE Himalayan Electric wasn't just another in-house evaluation. Royal Enfield organised an invite-only ride curated by Shimla-based touring company Xplorearth, bringing together experienced riders from across the world. Among them were American supercross legend Ricky Johnson and former MotoGP and WSBK champion Carlos Checa Carrera. By involving such international names, Royal Enfield is clearly seeking diverse, expert feedback to fine-tune the Himalayan electric before its debut, underlining its global ambitions for this adventure EV.

From the spy shots, the RE Himalayan Electric stays true to its adventure bike DNA. It carries forward the rugged, upright stance of the ICE-powered Himalayan but introduces fresh detailing. A round LED headlamp, short windshield, and slim tank-equivalent unit with shrouds lend it a familiar yet futuristic look. The bodywork around the battery and mechanicals seems aerodynamically sculpted, possibly using aluminium to keep weight in check. Gold-finished USD front forks, spoke-style alloy wheels with off-road tyres, and a single-piece dual-tone seat with RE branding further cement its purposeful character.

Royal Enfield appears to be going all-in on features with the Him-e. Unlike the round digital-analog cluster of the petrol Himalayan, the electric version gets a larger, modern display, likely to support navigation, ride modes, connectivity, and switchable ABS. Multiple modes such as Zen, Off-Road, Tour, and Rally are expected, tailoring performance to diverse conditions. A high level of electronic intervention would make this the most tech-laden Royal Enfield to date.

Powertrain: Serious Numbers In Sight

While official details remain under wraps, reports suggest the Him-e will pack a 14 kWh battery pack paired with a 74.5 kW (100 hp) electric motor. This would make it the most powerful Royal Enfield ever produced. Early rider impressions hint at strong acceleration and effortless cruising, with a top speed around 120 km/h. Expected range sits between 200-250 km, depending on terrain and riding mode, making it a capable long-hauler in the EV adventure space.

Expected Debut & Price

The Himalayan Electric is widely expected to make its public debut at EICMA 2025 on November 4, with a market launch following in late 2026. Positioned as a premium offering, it could carry an estimated price tag of around Rs.5 lakhs (ex-showroom), slotting it above most of Royal Enfield's current lineup.

Verdict

The Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric is shaping up to be more than just an experiment, it's a bold step into the premium EV adventure segment. With its rugged design, global-level testing, and serious powertrain credentials, the Him-e could redefine Royal Enfield's image in international markets. While its high price and niche positioning may keep it out of mass-market reach, the Himalayan Electric is going to be the proof that Royal Enfield is preparing to play in the big leagues of electrification. If the final product delivers on range and durability, it might just set the benchmark for affordable-yet-premium electric ADVs worldwide. But as for India, it sits well above the afordable section.
