Design

The Orbiter adopts a minimalist, boxy design language that sets it apart in the EV space. On the side, a single sweeping panel stretches all the way to the end, giving it a seamless look. Meanwhile, at the front, the handlebar-mounted LED headlamps setup paired with a futuristic RoboCop-inspired LED strip across the apron, giving a glimpse of TVS's Jupiter.

Along with design, practicality hasn't been overlooked either. The Orbiter offers a generous 34-litre underseat storage, large enough to hold two helmets, along with a flat 290mm floorboard, making it a practical choice for daily grocery runs. The Orbiter offers a total of six shades in its palette: Neon Sunburst, Stratos Blue, Lunar Grey, Stellar Silver, Cosmic Titanium and Martian Copper.

Features

Despite being an entry-level EV scooter, Orbiter packs a decent set of features. It gets a coloured LCD instrument console with connectivity features via a dedicated mobile app. These features include turn-by-turn navigation, over-the-air updates and safety alerts such as anti-theft notifications, crash warnings, and geo-fencing. Adding to that, you've two ride modes: Eco and Power. It also comes equipped with hill-hold assist, parking assist with reverse function for tight spots, and even cruise control.

Powertrain & Hardware

Underneath the Orbiter is powered by a single 3.1kWh battery pack paired with a hub-mounted motor. This setup gives out a claimed range of 159 km within a single charge. Beyond its motor, it offers a practical 34 litres of underseat storage. Meanwhile, the scooter rides on a 14-inch wheel at the front and a 12-inch wheel at the rear. The 845 mm seat offers ample space for two, while the 290 mm footboard ensures good legroom. With 169 mm ground clearance, it's well-suited for Indian roads.

Pricing

The TVS Orbiter is available at a price tag of Rs 99,900 (ex-showroom), one of the most affordable electric scooters. Meanwhile, it only comes in a single variant with a 3.1kWh battery pack.

Verdict

The TVS Orbiter marks a smart move in the EV space by blending affordability with practicality. At under Rs 1 lakh, it manages to pack in segment-first hardware, thoughtful design, and connected features usually seen on pricier scooters. While it may not be the most powerful EV, its long range, spacious design, and everyday usability make it one of the most sensible choices for urban commuters looking to shift to electric without compromise.
