Hero MotoCorp's EV arm, Vida, has officially launched the Vida Dirt.E K3 in India at an introductory price of Rs 69,990 (ex-showroom) for the first 300 customers. Designed exclusively for children eager to step into the world of off-road riding, the Dirt.E K3 brings an accessible and confidence-building platform to a segment where petrol-powered dirt bikes such as the Kawasaki KX65 remain significantly more expensive. With adjustable ergonomics, app-based parental control, and a kid-friendly electric powertrain, the Dirt.E K3 aims to introduce a new generation to safe and structured motorsport learning. Hero Vida Dirt.E K3 Design: A Mini Dirt Bike Built For Young Trail Runners

The Vida Dirt.E K3 adopts a scaled-down dirt bike form, complete with minimal bodywork, a high-mounted fender, a sleek rear tail section, and a parent-friendly grab handle. It features premium touches such as gold-finished fork tubes (aesthetic only) and black spoked wheels, giving it an authentic off-road stance, where the K3 uses a unique three-stage adjustable frame that allows the wheelbase, handlebar height, and seat height to grow with the rider.

Seat height options include 454mm (Small), 544mm (Medium), and 631mm (Large). With a kerb weight of just 22 kg, the bike is easy for kids to handle, lift, and manoeuvre on trails. It rides on 16-inch spoked wheels wrapped in knobby tyres for dependable grip on dirt, grass, and loose terrain. Standard equipment includes a 160mm rear disc brake with a rotor guard, along with safety add-ons such as removable footpegs, a handlebar chest pad, a magnetic kill switch, and a rear motor cover. Parents can further enhance capability with optional upgrades such as a functional front fork, rear monoshock, larger wheels, a front brake, and even road-ready tyres.

Instead of a conventional display, the Dirt.E K3 relies on a dedicated smartphone application that gives parents full control over the bike's behaviour. Through the app, they can set speed limits, adjust throttle response, monitor ride analytics, and manage various ride parameters remotely. This digital oversight not only adds a layer of safety but also ensures the electric dirt bike remains approachable for first-time riders while offering structured progression as their skills improve.

Performance: Smooth and Predictable Power for Safe Learning

The Vida Dirt.E K3 is engineered to deliver gentle, confidence-building performance through a 360Wh removable lithium-ion battery paired with an electric motor producing 500W peak and 350W continuous power. The focus is not on outright speed but on smooth throttle response that helps young riders master balance and control safely. It offers three riding modes, Cruise, Boost, and Zoom, paired with adjustable speed levels of 8 km/h, 17 km/h, and 25 km/h, allowing gradual skill progression. The battery supports 2-3 hours of riding and charges from 20-80% in about two hours.

Verdict

The Hero Vida Dirt.E K3 arrives as a well-thought-out starter platform for children entering motorcycling with adjustability, safety, and EV simplicity in a package far more affordable than petrol-powered alternatives. While performance upgrades require optional accessories, the Dirt.E K3's modular design, lightweight build, and app-based oversight make it one of the most practical and confidence-inspiring training tools for young riders. For parents looking to introduce their kids to off-roading without the noise, fumes, and complexity of traditional dirt bikes, the Dirt.E K3 stands out as a solid new option.
