Aprilia RS 457 Detailed Review
- The design of the RS 457 is beautiful and very attractive. It mimics the bigger RSV4 sports bike. Additionally, the multiple colour options with aggressive decals and graphics make it look even more attractive. The quality, fit, and finish are also superb it.
- Being a sports bike the riding comfort is not great on it. The rider triangle is sorted for fast riding. But, longer rides and touring will be difficult due to committed riding posture. Moreover, the long turning radius is also not very helpful inside the city.

- The 457cc parallel-twin engine on it is brand new. It has been designed in Italy but made in India. The bike propels from as low as 3,000 rpm. The amount of torque surge is ballistic until 9,000 rpm. After that, it becomes flat. However, at no point do you feel that it is slow or the power is less.
- The 6-speed gearbox is slick to use and there are no false shifts. The bike feels confident due to the short-shift gearbox. The slipper-clutch does lag a bit and under aggressive downshifts, the tail section of it dangles a bit.
- The handling of the RS 457 is like a knife cutting through hot butter. It is butter smooth and agile, and you can point-shoot the bike in any direction at any speed. All thanks to the short wheelbase, it is very flickable to ride this bike
RS 457 engine specifications:
| Transmission | Manual |
| Mileage | 30 |
| Engine | 457 cc |
- The RS 457 uses a USD front suspension that is adjustable for rebound and compression. The rear is a monoshock, that is also adjustable for compression. The bike feels planted mostly. The sharp bumps and potholes can be felt on the handlebar but it is not unsettling. Also, you can adjust it as per your requirements. Overall ride quality is well-suited for good tarmac and highways.
- While the braking looks adequate on paper, the RS 457 failed to impress us here. The front brake doesn’t have a strong bit and lacks confidence under hard braking. Moreover, the ABS kicks in too early when hard braking the bike. We recommend buying the sintered brake pads that come as an optional accessory.
- RS 457 is the most feature-rich bike in its segment. It gets LED lights, a TFT console, Bluetooth connectivity, and three riding modes to choose from. A lot of features can be accessed via the buttons on the switchgear. Overall, it feels modern in every sense.
- For safety, it gets a dual-channel ABS as a standard accessory. Aprilia also offers three different traction modes that can be switched through the buttons.
