Yamaha XSR155 Detailed Review
-
The XSR 155 is a proper neo retro naked from Yamaha, which seems to have a lot of influences from the long-gone RX135, It gets a round LED headlamp, 17-inch wheels sitting on alloy rims, a compact tail section and a small round tail lamp. The mechanicals are mostly covered in black, and it also gets a long ribbed seat.
-
The fuel tank is large, but gets clean treatment, with simple Yamaha lettering that will remind you of the RX100 and the RX135. However, underneath the neo retro looks, the XSR is a properly modern motorcycle, as it shares plenty of mechanicals with the R15 and the MT-15.
-
There are four paint schemes on offer; Metallic Blue, Greyish Green Metallic, Vivid Red, and Metallic Grey. Additionally, Yamaha is also offering two accessory packs; Cafe Racer and Scrambler, for those who want to differentiate their motorcycles further.
XSR155 body specifications:
| Ground Clearance | 170 mm |

-
The XSR is based on the R15 and the MT-15, and as such there are plenty of things it shares with both the motorcycles. It borrows the 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder powertrain, and the performance figures remain the same; 18.1bhp at 10,000rpm and 14.2Nm of torque at 7500rpm, paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
-
Beneath the retro looks, the XSR 155 is a thoroughly modern motorcycle. Built on the Deltabox frame, the XSR hangs off of USD forks and a linkage-type monoshock, and it sits on 17-inch wheels on both ends with alloy rims. In terms of braking, the XSR uses a dual-disc setup with a dual-channel ABS system.
- The XSR 155 keeps it rather simple in terms of features, and there isn’t a huge list of features that it boasts about. It gets a small LCD screen with app-based smartphone connectivity, showing you things like call/SMS alerts, phone battery level alert, and a gear position indicator.
