Yamaha XSR 155: What's New With Metallic Black?

The new Metallic Black paint scheme gives the Yamaha XSR 155 a darker, more cohesive visual identity. The fuel tank and side panels wear a deep metallic black finish, complemented by blacked-out bodywork, wheels and seat upholstery. The highlight, however, is the gold-finished USD front fork, which adds contrast and reinforces the premium positioning of the bike. Chrome-finished Yamaha badging further breaks the monotony of the dark theme. This colour option joins the existing range comprising Metallic Blue, Metallic Grey, Greyish Green Metallic, and Vivid Red. Notably, Greyish Green Metallic remains the only shade with gold-coloured alloy wheels.
Everything else remains unchanged and the underpinnings include a Deltabox frame, aluminium swingarm, USD front forks, and a rear monoshock setup. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS and traction control. Feature highlights include all-LED lighting and a circular TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity.

Mechanical Package Remains Unchanged
Beyond aesthetics, the Yamaha XSR 155 continues unchanged mechanically. It is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 18.4 PS and 14.2 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and assist-and-slipper clutch. As for the latest pricing, its as follows:
| Colour | Price (ex-showroom) |
| Metallic Blue | Rs 1,49,990 |
| Vivid Red | Rs 1,52,990 |
| Metallic Grey | Rs 1,56,990 |
| Greyish Green Metallic | Rs 1,58,990 |
| Metallic Black | Rs 1,58,990 |
Verdict
The Metallic Black update doesn't alter the Yamaha XSR 155's core strengths, but it meaningfully enhances its visual appeal. The darker finish, combined with gold forks, gives the motorcycle a more mature and premium presence on the road. For buyers who were previously hesitant, this variant makes the lineup more complete and appealing, at least visually. While feature additions would have strengthened the update further, the new shade successfully refreshes the XSR 155's appeal without disturbing its well-balanced mechanical package.
