Under the revised GST structure, motorcycles above 350cc now attract a 40% tax slab, placing them in a higher taxation bracket. In contrast, motorcycles below 350cc benefit from a lower 18% GST rate. This regulatory shift has prompted several manufacturers, including Bajaj, KTM and Triumph, to reassess their mid-capacity portfolios. Rajiv Bajaj, MD & CEO of Bajaj Auto, has confirmed that Triumph's upcoming 350cc range will launch in April, signalling a clear intent to reposition the brand under the more favourable tax bracket.
