Price: The MG IM5 is anticipated to launch in India with a starting price range of Rs. 55-65 lakh (ex-showroom). While the official pricing is yet to be disclosed, the competitive positioning makes the IM5 an attractive option in the premium electric sedan market, blending cutting-edge technology and luxurious features.  

Powertrain and Performance: The MG IM5 is powered by advanced solid-state battery packs available in three configurations: 75 kWh, 83 kWh, and 100 kWh. The sedan offers both single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive options. The dual-motor setup produces a remarkable 579 PS of power and 800 Nm of torque, enabling the car to sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2 seconds. This performance, combined with instant torque delivery, ensures an exhilarating driving experience.  

Range: With its range tailored to suit diverse needs, the MG IM5 sets benchmarks in efficiency. The 75 kWh battery offers a range of up to 650 kilometers, while the 83 kWh and 100 kWh options deliver up to 780 kilometers and 850 kilometers, respectively. This range versatility makes the IM5 suitable for both everyday commuting and extended road trips.  

Design and Dimensions: The MG IM5’s futuristic design emphasizes aerodynamics and style. Its exterior boasts flowing LED headlamps, C-shaped air intakes, a closed-off grille, and 19-inch aero-designed alloy wheels. The rear features a sleek LED light bar and a pixelated display capable of showing custom messages, adding a distinctive modern touch. Inside, the spacious cabin combines minimalism with luxury, featuring advanced displays and high-quality materials for an elevated experience.  

Features: The IM5 redefines luxury with an impressive array of features. The cabin houses a massive 26.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.5-inch central display, and a 15.5-inch passenger display. Additional comforts include ventilated seats, ambient lighting with 256 customizable colors, twin wireless smartphone chargers with cooling, and a premium 21-speaker audio system. The vehicle also supports over-the-air updates for seamless technology upgrades.  

Safety: The MG IM5 gets all the premium stuff you can expect in the segment.These include six airbags, a 360-degree camera system, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic emergency braking. Its vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging capability further enhances functionality, ensuring practicality alongside safety.  

Rivals: The MG IM5 will face competition from premium electric sedans such as the BYD Seal. If we see its rivals that belong to other segments, it also goes against Hyundai Ioniq 5. Its exceptional range, cutting-edge features and impressive performance make it a formidable contender in the segment.
