Mahindra Vision T Latest Update
Last Updated on 18th Aug'25: Mahindra Vision T is the latest addition to the Thar family, previewed at the brand’s Global Vision 2027 event. Built on the new NU_IQ platform, it gets rugged Thar-inspired styling with futuristic elements and is likely to debut as an EV, with options for hybrid and ICE powertrains as well. Measuring just over 4.3 metres with a long 2,665 mm wheelbase, it promises improved cabin space, class-leading turning radius, and proper off-road hardware. Expected to be priced between Rs. 12-22 lakh, the production-spec Vision T will launch in 2027 as a global lifestyle SUV.
Design: The Vision T concept carries forward the iconic Thar DNA but adds a more refined and futuristic layer to it. It follows Mahindra’s Heartcore design language, with a combination of upright, squared-off proportions with bold detailing. The front gets a wide split six-slot grille with horizontal slats, a cube-like projector headlamp setup flanked by DRLs, a clamshell bonnet with exposed latches, and a rugged bumper with a bright red tow hook.
The side profile maintains the off-road stance with squared wheel arches, flat body panels, contrast black floating roof, visible hinges, and large all-terrain tyres. The quarter glass design, door-mounted hinges, and rear door handle placement closely resemble the Thar Roxx, giving it a family identity. At the rear, vertical LED tail lamps, squared elements, and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel lend it a true lifestyle off-roader appeal.Overall, the Vision T looks like a more lifestyle-ready yet toughened-up sibling of the Thar Roxx, with enhanced practicality and global aspirations.
Interior: Inside, Mahindra has combined ruggedness with minimalism. The Vision T gets a free-standing digital instrument cluster, a large portrait-oriented infotainment touchscreen, a newly designed 3-spoke steering wheel with integrated controls, and a prominent center console with physical switchgear.
The cabin follows a modern, minimalistic design while still appearing functional and durable. The panoramic sunroof enhances the sense of space, while the flat floor and extended 2,665 mm wheelbase ensure better second-row comfort and class-leading interior space. Boot practicality has also been emphasized, making the SUV appeal to both off-roaders and urban lifestyle buyers.
Platform: The Vision T is underpinned by Mahindra’s new NU_IQ modular monocoque platform. This architecture supports multiple powertrains (petrol, diesel, hybrid, and EV) along with both FWD and AWD drivetrain options. It also offers flexibility for LHD and RHD markets, allowing Mahindra to target both domestic and international buyers. The SUV measures over 4.3 metres in length with a 2,665 mm wheelbase, placing it in the same ballpark as the Thar Roxx but with a more versatile and family-friendly orientation. Mahindra also claims the best-in-class turning radius of 10.3 metres, an impressive feat for a rugged SUV of this size. In EV form, it is likely to be powered by an LFP battery pack shared with the upcoming BE 6 and XEV 9e models, paired with AWD hardware for true off-road capabilities.
Expected Price and Launch: The Mahindra Vision T is currently a concept, but production-spec models are expected to debut in 2027. Given its positioning between lifestyle and hardcore off-roader, it is expected to be priced between Rs. 12 lakh to Rs. 22 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the chosen powertrain. With the combination of off-road DNA, futuristic design, and electrification-ready platform, the Vision T is expected to target a wide spectrum of buyers - from young lifestyle enthusiasts to serious off-roaders in both Indian and global markets.
