It continues to offer second-row captain seats and 6 airbags as standard, making it the most affordable car in India with such features. Powered by a 1.2L petrol engine (also available with a CNG option), the Eeco is priced from Rs 5.44 lakh (ex-showroom). It remains a strong seller, especially in rural and commercial markets.

The Maruti Eeco continues to serve its purpose as a basic people mover aimed mainly at commercial users and large families on a tight budget. The proven, fuel-efficient petrol engine, low maintenance costs and immense space for passengers or cargo remain the strong points. However, the ageing design, basic safety kit and barebones feature list stop us from recommending it to private buyers. It is now offered with caption 2nd seats but ride remains bouncy. But with zero direct rival at this price point, the Eeco is a good choice for for fleet operators.
