Maruti Suzuki Eeco And S-Presso Recall: Faulty Steering Tie Rod

Maruti Suzuki has initiated a recall of certain Eeco and S-Presso units manufactured between July 5, 2021, and February 15, 2023. The automaker recently released a statement indicating that these specific vehicles may have a potential defect in a part called the steering tie rod. In rare instances, this component could break, impacting the vehicle's steerability and handling.

To address the issue, Maruti Suzuki is taking proactive measures. The company's dealer workshops will be in contact with the affected vehicle owners to conduct inspections and replace the faulty part at no cost to the owners.

Maruti Suzuki's Vehicle Recalls: Fourth Recall Of 2023

Eeco And S-Presso recall

In 2023, Maruti Suzuki issued its fourth vehicle recall, impacting 87,599 units of S-Presso and Eeco models due to a steering tie rod defect. Earlier recalls included 17,362 units for airbag controller inspection on January 17, 2023, 11,177 Grand Vitara SUVs for rear seatbelt mounting bracket issues on January 23, 2023, and 7,213 Baleno RS hatchbacks for vacuum pump defects on April 21, 2023.

Verdict

Since 2012, Maruti Suzuki has issued 29 recalls, affecting 8,63,901 vehicles under SIAM's voluntary vehicle recall policy. The latest recall for S Presso and Eeco models is their third-largest.
