Maruti Suzuki Brezza has recently undergone a revision. The MT variants of the C-SUV have now been revised with the removal of the SHVS. Maruti Suzuki Brezza Revised Mileage Details
As per the old ARAI-claimed figures, the Brezza is listed to deliver 20.15 kmpl for the LXi & VXi variants. While the ZXi & ZXi Plus are stated to deliver 19.89 kmpl. These MT variants were decently fuel-economical until now. The removal of the mild-hybrid SHVS tech has dropped these figures down to a low 17.38 kmpl. The new mileage figure has been released by MS. This is a massive drop of 2.77 kmpl. As we know, the claimed figures are generally higher than the real driving conditions. Hence, we can assume that the revised (MT) Brezza will deliver around 15-16 kmpl in the real world.
The automatic variants of the Brezza will continue using the SHVS tech. Hence, their claimed mileage stands at 19.8 kmpl. Meanwhile, the CNG variants remain untouched therefore delivering 25.51 km/kg of claimed economy. Maruti has also revised the safety features with the latest update of Brezza. The CNG variants of it now miss out on ESP & hill-hold assist. However, Maruti has now equipped a seat-belt reminder alarm for all of the seats. The prices of the new updated Brezza remain unchanged.
Verdict
Maruti Brezza is a well-established SUV in its segment. It is widely appreciated for a reliable engine, decent performance, & easy ergonomics. But, the latest update has made it less fuel economical which was one of its strongest points. Now, Maruti needs to bring an update which either makes it more economical or powerful; real soon. Its rivals like Tata Nexon & Hyundai Venue have already updated themselves.
