Renault Kwid

• The Kwid's design still leans on its familiar SUV-styled cues body cladding, skid plates front and rear, and roof rails that now come with white inserts on the Climber trim. The 184mm ground clearance is genuinely one of the tallest in its class, which shows up in the car's stance as much as it does on rough patches of road. 
• Dual-tone paint with a mystery black roof is available across colours like fiery red, zanskar blue, and moonlight silver, and the 14-inch wheels get a dual-tone styled cover on Climber versus a sparkling silver full wheel cover on Evolution sharpen the overall look. It's a design that still feels distinctive in a segment where most rivals play it safe.

• Step inside and the Kwid welcomes you with a 8-inch touchscreen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, paired with a fully digital instrument cluster and an onboard trip computer on the top trim.
• Fabric upholstery gets a sportier treatment on the Climber, with red stitching and a mustard-and-white theme depending on the variant chosen. 
• The tall stance fit four passengers comfortably, with a slightly better view out thanks to the high ground clearance. Features like rear power windows and a rear parcel shelf are Climber-exclusive, so it's worth checking exactly what your chosen variant includes before matching the range-topper.

• The Renault Kwid comes with a 999cc, three-cylinder SCe petrol engine making 69PS and 92.5Nm, paired with either a 5-speed manual or Renault's Easy-R AMT. It's not a quick unit, and the modest torque means it has to work when there are more than two people onboard with some luggage, but it's tuned for city driving and everyday fuel efficiency rather than outright performance. 
• The AMT also brings hill start assist along with it, which helps take some of the stress out of stop-start traffic on inclines. Adding to the appeal, Renault now offers a government-approved CNG kit for retrofitment across manual transmission variants, backed by a 3-year/1,00,000km warranty.

Renault's "Human First" safety philosophy shows up on paper with features like electronic stability control, traction control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and ABS with EBD available through the range. However, the more meaningful additions such as a second set of side airbags, curtain airbags, hill start assist, and the rearview camera  are reserved for the Climber trim, while hill start assist comes down to gearbox choice rather than trim, available whenever you pick the easy-R AMT. Reverse parking sensors, oddly, are offered only on Evolution and dropped on Climber. It means the safety experience varies quite a bit depending on which Kwid you actually drive home.
