- Kwid facelift spied testing internationally
- Will retain the same 1.0L Na engine
- Launch most likely in mid 2026
Renault Kwid, one of India's most affordable cars, was recently spied testing, and it appears that its facelift is being evaluated. This small hatchback is the second most affordable car on sale in the country and was first introduced in 2015. The spy shots were taken from a distance, so nothing significant is visible; its just that the expected changes are being covered, including the tail lights, front bumper, grille, and headlights. Let's learn more about this below, and in the meantime, do join our 91Wheels Whatsapp Channel to never miss the latest automotive updates.

Renault Kwid

Kwid isn't selling since SUVs became the go-to cars. It was a hit-product when it came in 2015 and till 2017, but ever since brands shifted their focus completely on small-SUV like Nissan Magnite, Maruti Fronx, Hyundai Exter and the king of this segment Tata Punch, cars like S-Presso, Alto K10, and Kwid has lost their relevance. Post 2021, Renualt has launched several editions of it, with modern features and cool graphics but nothing has really helped to revitalise this car.

Now, the new spy-shots really don't reveal anything new - but we can expect - new light setup, new front facia and alloy wheels, that's the basics of any facelift. Moreover, we might see new infotainment screen - 8 inches, digital driver's display, new seat covers, and roof-rails. On mechanical front it won't have any change as even the facelift version of Triber and Kiger didn't have any.

The 1.0L naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine, paired with 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options, will be the only engine on offer. It produces 68 PS and 91 Nm of torque. As of now, there is no confirmed information on its launch date, but we expect it to take place sometime around mid-2026.

Verdict
The Renault Kwid facelift is expected to bring minor design updates and feature revisions while retaining the same engine and overall package. These changes should help the hatchback stay relevant in the entry-level segment until its official launch, likely around mid-2026.
