Last Updated On 19th Dec'23 : The Renault Arkana is set to make its debut in India around 2024, creating a lot of excitement, especially for fans of the coupe-SUV blend. Although there haven't been many recent updates on this car, the Volkswagen Group is in early discussions with Renault to jointly develop an entry-level electric vehicle, potentially producing 200,000 to 250,000 electric cars annually if the talks progress.

Renault is planning to launch a new SUV in India which will be called Arkana. The Arkana is already on sale in international markets and it seems like the brand will launch it in India by the end of 2022. The Arkana has a sloping roofline that blends into the trunk, giving it a high-riding sporty coupe appearance. The Arkana is based on the B0 platform, which is also used by the Renault Duster and Captur. 

What we know so far?

Recently, a Renault Arkana was spotted with a private registration plate, registered to Renault India Private Limited. The Arkana is expected to come with a 145 E-Tech Hybrid, which comes with a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine and two electric motors - a 36 kW e-engine and a 15 kW HSG (High-Voltage Starter Generator) - in the international variant. A 6-speed automatic transmission is paired with the engine. While no official information on the Arkana has been released in India, we expect it to be powered by the same 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine that powers the Duster and Kicks as well.

Design And Dimensions

The Arkana's design features a sloping roofline that flows into the trunk, giving it the appearance of a high-riding fast coupe. The Arkana is built on the same B0 platform as the Renault Duster and Captur employ. It has clear LED headlights up front and LED taillights with a linked LED stripe along the length of the tailgate. On the outside, it has dual-cut blackened alloy wheels. The length of the international variant is 4545 mm, while the width and height are 1820 mm and 1565 mm, respectively. The wheelbase, on the other hand, is 2721 mm long.

Summary

Renault Arkana is a spacious SUV with a sleek and attractive design. When it comes to features, it's believed to include everything from a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to wireless charging and a digital instrument cluster, among other things. The Arkana is projected to have a good safety suite for the passengers' safety.

Pricing

The brand has not provided any information on the Arkana SUV's launch or pricing in India. However, we anticipate a price of around Rs 10 lakh or more. In India, the Arkana will compete against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and other mid-size SUVs.
