Mahindra has finally taken the wraps off the all-new Thar. The new 2020 Mahindra Thar is one of the most anticipated SUVs of this year. This Iconic SUV has finally made a comeback in a brand new avatar. Mahindra says that the new Thar is a quantum leap in terms of performance, everyday comfort & convenience, technology and safety. We do agree that as the new Thar looks very very promising. Mahindra has today unveiled this SUV and they have revealed all the specs and features of this legendary off-roader. The new Thar will be available in two trims - AX and LX. In this article, we have explained the variants of the new 2020 Mahindra Thar.

2020 Mahindra Thar Off-road

Before we begin with the variants, let me tell you the powertrain options that will be available with the all-new Thar. So, the new 2020 Mahindra Thar will be offered with BS6-compliant petrol as well as an oil-burner. It will get a 2.0-litre mStallion T-GDI petrol engine that will churn out 152 PS of power at 5000 RPM and 320 Nm peak torque between 1500-3000 RPM. It will also get a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that will churn out 132 PS of power at 3750 RPM and 300 Nm of peak torque between 1600-2800 RPM. Both the engines will come mated to a 6-speed manual as well as a 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission with 4X4 system as standard.

Now, talking about the variants, so the new Mahindra Thar will be offered in two trims - AX and LX. The AX series stands for Adventure and is geared towards serious hard-core off-road enthusiasts while the LX series stands for Lifestyle. Both the trims are fairly loaded with features but the LX series has more creature comforts on offer. Also, the AX series of the new Thar can be even had with an optional pack.
