When it comes to electric two-wheelers, Hero Electric Motorcycles is one of the pioneers in this segment. They already have 10 electric motorcycles available in the market, which range from City Speed variants to Comfort Speed variants. The former can travel up to 42 km/hr of max. speed and the latter can do only up to 25 km/hr. Hero Electric also has an electric cycle on offer that goes by the name of Velocity and it comes packed with a 36Volt battery with a range of 50 km in a single charge.
Besides the above offerings, Hero Electric Motorcycle is going to populate the market with 7 new bike launches. All of them are scheduled for launch in the coming months. Prices for these bikes are expected to range from Rs 55,000 - Rs. 1,50,000. So, which one should you go for? Lets find out
Hero Electric AE-29 (Estimated price - Rs. 85,000, Expected Launch - November, 2021)
The AE-29 was first unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo. It is powered by a 1 kW motor that is attached to a 3.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Hero claims that the AE-20 takes 4 hours to charge fully which will be good for 80 km of range.
It comes equipped with a digital console, LED headlamps, Bluetooth connectivity, and an anti-theft alarm. The suspension duty is handled by a telescopic suspension at the front, and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. Both wheels come with drum brakes with Combined Braking System (CBS). The Hero Electric AE-29 is expected to launch in November launch, with a price tag expected to start from Rs. 85,000.

Hero Electric AE-3 e-Trike
- Estimated Price - Rs. 1,50,000
- Expected Launch - 10th November 2021
The AE-3 is a one of its kind electric motorcycle from Hero Electric. The tri-wheel layout will rightfully remind you of the Yamaha Tricity 155 which is a petrol engine model. The AE-3 e-Trike derives its power from a 250W electric motor and a 3kWh lithium-ion battery pack which takes 5 hours to fully charge and that is good for 100 kilometres of range.
The AE-3 comes equipped with a sophisticated twin telescopic fork with a pair of disc brakes. This scooter can also balance itself using a gyroscope-enabled auto-balance park switch. As far as its features are concerned, the Hero Electric A3-E uses a fully digital instrument cluster. The walk assists and reverse assist can do that up to 26 km/h. Furthermore, the AE-3 comes equipped with real-time tracking and geofencing, along with a mobile charger. The AE-3 is expected to be priced from Rs. 1.50 lakh with a tentative launch date scheduled on the 10th of November 2021.
Hero Electric AE-47 E-Bike
- Estimated Price - Rs. 1,00,000
- Expected Launch - November 2021
The Hero Electric AE-47 E-Bike is a compact motorcycle with a neo-retro design. It directly competes against the Revolt RV400., and just like Revolt, it gets a removable 3.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that takes four hours to fully recharge.
Aside from that, the AE-47 E-bike is powered by a 4kW electric hub motor, and it can accelerate from 0-60 kph in 9 seconds with a top speed of 85 kmph. There are two riding modes - Eco mode and Power mode. The former will help achieve a range of 165 km, while the latter being the performance mode brings down the range to 85 km. Some of the features available with the Hero Electric AE-47 E-bike include a USB charger, cruise control, walk and reverse assist, geofencing, GPS, Bluetooth, and SIM connectivity with app support. Just like the AE-3, Hero is expected to launch the AE-47 E-bike in November, with an estimated price of Rs. 1,00,000. (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Hero Electric AXLHE-20
- Estimated Price - Rs. 80,000
- Expected Launch - December 2021
The AXLHE-20 is a budget-friendly electric scooter with an expected price of Rs. 55,000. It will come equipped with a lithium-ion battery that will produce 8.15 Ps of power, and it can travel up to 110 km in a single charge. The spec sheet of the AXLHE-20 has not been fully disclosed, but whatever of it was displayed at the 2020 Auto Expo - we can safely assume that both the wheels will come with drum brakes, and with a simplistic design it will be ergonomically friendly, especially in the city.
Hero Electric AE-75
- Estimated Price - Rs. 35,000
- Expected Launch - December 2021
The AE-75 is a high-speed electric scooter that has a top speed of 55 km/h. Just like the AXLHE-20, not much information is available about the AE-75. In fact, the only data available aside from its top speed is that it will have an estimated range of 80 kilometres in a single charge. Prices for the AE-75 is expected to start from Rs. 80,000, and is scheduled to launch this December.

Hero Electric A2B
- Estimated Price - Rs. 70,000
- Expected Launch - January 2022
The A2B is designed like a bicycle. A single rod that joins the handlebar and the seat is where the lithium-ion battery is located. The specifications of the battery are not out yet, but it will have a range of up to 70 km with a single charge. By the design of the A2B, this model is most likely going to be used as part of B2B services. Hero Electric is expected to launch the A2B in December 2021 with an estimated price starting from Rs. 35,000.
Hero Electric AE-8
- Estimated Price - Rs. 70,000
- Expected Launch - January 2022
The Hero Electic AE-8 is again a typical-looking scooter just like the AXLHE-20. Much of its specs have not been revealed yet, but as was evident from the 2020 Auto Expo. The AE-8 will get LED headlamps, a nicely designed front apron with a unique honeycomb design backlit by blue. The instrument cluster is fully digitalised, and both front and rear wheels have drum brakes with the CBS system. Prices for the AE-8 is expected to start from Rs. 70,000 and it is scheduled to launch next year in January.
