Ampere has sold 66,069 units so far in 2026, far outpacing the 57,699 units it sold in the whole of the previous year, according to Vahan data. The performance of GEML isn’t built in a single day; it is built on continued execution of the company to drive sustainable growth through a customer-centric product portfolio, intelligent technology-led innovations, disciplined cost management and a relentless focus on improving business fundamentals.
Beyond its market-share gains, GEML has remained focused on strengthening the quality of growth. The company continues to improve operating efficiencies, optimise costs, reduce cash burn and strengthen the underlying economics of the business. This balanced approach, combining growth with financial discipline, is helping create a stronger and more resilient platform for long-term value creation and profitability.
What’s behind Ampere’s Accelerating Growth

The company's continued momentum reflects growing customer acceptance of its "Built for Bharat" portfolio and the strength of its execution across product, distribution and customer experience. Backed by recent launches, intelligent feature enhancements, an expanding retail and financing ecosystem and industry-recognised products such as the Nexus and Magnus GMax, GEML remains focused on accelerating growth while maintaining its commitment to building a sustainable and profitable electric mobility business.
Ola's Steep Decline
This year has marked a dramatic reversal for Ola Electric, which commanded a 35% market share in 2024 after selling 429,187 units. It was the first company to cross the 400,000-unit mark in a single year. Since then, its position has eroded sharply: sales fell 52% to roughly 204,500 units in 2025 (a 15% share) and further still to about 88,900 units sold between January and late August 2026, pushing its share down to 7%. By early September, that figure had slipped further to 4.5%.
