Aprilia Tuono 457 Teased Ahead Of EICMA Debut

Aprilia has unveiled a teaser of its upcoming Tuono 457, set to debut at the EICMA 2024 motorcycle show. This streetfighter is expected to share its mechanical underpinnings with the recently launched Aprilia RS 457. The teaser reveals a unique design language for the Tuono 457. Unlike the test mule seen earlier, the production model sports a sharper, more aggressive front end with a central projector headlamp flanked by V-shaped DRLs. However, it deviates from traditional Tuono models by eschewing the semi-fairing and short visor. While the front end is all-new, the rear section, alloy wheels, and digital instrument cluster appear to be carried over directly from the RS 457.

The Tuono 457 is expected to share its mechanical underpinnings with the RS 457. This includes a 41mm USD front fork and a rear mono-shock suspension setup. Braking duties will likely be handled by a 320mm front disc with a 4-piston radial caliper and a 220mm rear disc with a single-piston floating caliper. These have been tested over time and already proved their mettle with the RS 457.

Enigine Details: RS 457 Heart Inside

The Tuono 457 will be powered by the same 457cc parallel-twin engine found in the RS 457. This liquid-cooled engine produces 47 bhp and 48 Nm of torque and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. This engine has been the main source of attraction for the enthusiast along with the sporty aesthetics that the RS 457 offered. Going by the same expectations, the Tuono 457 could carve out its place in the segment as well.

With the full reveal scheduled for November 5, 2024, at EICMA, anticipation for the Tuono 457 is building. Given its Indian production and the positive reception of the RS 457, I expect an Indian launch sometime in 2025.
