Ather Konarc Launched At Rs 1 Lakh: Price, Range, Specs

The Ather Konarc has officially gone on sale in India, with Ather unveiling the electric scooter at its Annual Community Day event. Pricing kicks off at Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom), for the entry-level trim. It has three variants: S 100, S 125 and S 161, named after the IDC range each one delivers. Ather isn't stopping there either: a 200 km-range version is already in development, and a more premium, tech-heavy Z trim offering both 125 km and 161 km range options is set to follow.

The new scooter is Ather's freshly developed EL platform, marking its debut appearance. Alongside it comes a new Advanced Electronic Braking System (AEBS) and app-based MagicKey boot unlocking, both of which are reserved for the Konarc Z.

Ather Konarc Design

The design of Ather Konarc doesn't look as an electric scooter, it looks more familiar to the eyes, looking similar like an ICE one. Comfort and composure were clearly priorities for the Ather Konarc's chassis engineers. Suspension travel comes in at 90 mm up front and 100 mm at the rear, and at 1,352 mm, its wheelbase is the longest Ather has fitted to any of its scooters so far. Wheel sizes are set at 14 inches front and 12 inches rear. Where the variants split is on brakes: the entry-level S 100 sticks with drums front and back, while the S 125 and S 161 move up to a 220 mm front disc matched with a 130 mm rear drum.

Storage-wise, riders get a generous 31-litre underseat boot, an 18W USB Type-C charging port, and a lamp built into the underseat compartment. Display size scales with variant: the S 100 makes do with a 4.2-inch screen, while the S 125 and S 161 both get a bigger 7-inch unit. The line-up also brings a reverse-assist function called Park Assist, which uses the motor to help back the scooter out of tight spots, and AutoHold, which locks the scooter in place at a standstill.

Ather Konarc Battery, Range And Charging

Power figures rise in step with battery size. The base S 100 runs a 2.1 kWh pack good for 4 kW and 16 Nm, while the S 125 (2.7 kWh) and S 161 (3.5 kWh) both extract a slightly stronger 4.7 kW, with torque held at the same 16 Nm. Top speed is capped at 70 kmph across the board, and real-world figures work out to roughly 80 km, 100 km and 130 km for the S 100, S 125 and S 161, respectively.

A 450W charger is fitted as standard on every Konarc, and it can be paired with an optional 900W off-board unit to push total charging capacity up to 1.35 kW. Relying on just the standard charger, a 0-80 percent top-up takes 4 hours on the S 100, stretches to 4hr 30min on the S 125, and runs to 5hr 40min on the S 161. Bring the combined charger into play and those numbers drop sharply, to 2 hours, 2hr 25min and 3hr 10min, respectively. In terms of quick top-ups, Ather quotes 13 km of range added in 10 minutes for the S 100, rising to 15 km in 10 minutes on the two higher variants.

Ather Konarc Motor Power

Every Konarc variant runs on a PMSM motor rated IP67, matched to an equally IP67-rated battery pack housed in an aluminium casing. Output splits the range in two: the S 100 tops out at 4 kW, while the S 125 and S 161 push that to 4.7 kW, all while torque stays pegged at 16 Nm regardless of variant. Gradeability is rated at 16 degrees across the board, and riders get three selectable ride modes: SmartEco, Eco and Power.

Ather Konarc Features

Feature differentiation between trims is sharpest at the top of the range. The Konarc Z picks up AEBS, Ather's new electronic braking system, which the company says shortens stopping distances and cuts down on rear-wheel lock-up for more predictable braking under hard stops. It also introduces MagicKey, an app-controlled way to pop open the boot without reaching for a physical key; on the range-topping Z 161, this pairs with an AutoPop function that swings the boot open automatically. Rounding out the Z's exclusive tech are onboard Google Maps and WhatsApp integration, plus live cricket scores that show up whenever the scooter is parked.

Every Konarc, regardless of trim, ships with Ather Connect built in, covering theft and tow alerts, ride-history logging, a Find My Scooter locator, and remote battery-status checks, alongside over-the-air software updates. Ather has also stretched out service intervals on the new platform, with routine maintenance now due once every 10,000 km or annually, whichever arrives first.

Ather Konarc Variants

Sitting above the standard S line-up, the Konarc Z brings 125 km and 161 km range options into a single, more feature-rich package built around AEBS and MagicKey. Ather has confirmed the Z is coming but hasn't put a number on it yet.

Ather Konarc Price

At launch, the Ather Konarc S 100 is priced at Rs 1 lakh, ex-showroom Bengaluru. Moving up, the S 125 costs Rs 1.22 lakh, and the range-topping S 161 comes in at Rs 1.45 lakh. Neither the Konarc Z variants nor the upcoming 200 km version have pricing attached yet; Ather has only confirmed they're on the way.

Warranty coverage is identical across the S 100, S 125 and S 161: a 3-year/30,000 km cover on both the vehicle and the battery as standard. Buyers who add AtherStack Pro can stretch battery warranty out to 5 years/60,000 km, with a further paid extension taking it to 10 years/1,00,000 km.
