Ather Overview
The Bangalore-based electric vehicle manufacturer is now looking to make it big in the segment. The success of its 450X electric scooter has pushed the company on working over a new and better model. Although, Ather has not disclosed the details; rumors over the internet persist indicating a new scooter is under development. Also, Ather 450X is soon going to get updated with a bigger battery pack. This will enable the 450X to cover longer riding distances on a single charge. The new battery will also be swappable as per the reports on the internet.
Ather Energy is an Indian electric two-wheeler start-up founded by IITians Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain in 2013. Ather is a young company but this young enterprise has set a benchmark in the electric two-wheeler space of the country. Ather Energy received seed-funding from Flipkart’s co-founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal and the brand launched its first electric scooter Ather 450 in India in 2018. Ather 450 was initially sold only in Bengaluru followed by Chennai and the Indian audience was hugely impressed by this product. Following the 450, Ather also launched the more affordable Ather 340 in India but it was later discontinued and recently the brand has launched its flagship E-scooter Ather 450X. Ather is gradually expanding its reach in the country and the brand is the most sought-after electric two-wheeler because of its interesting products and a unique DC fast charging infrastructure for electric vehicles called Ather Grid. Ather also has its own set of distinctive experience centers known as Ather Space.
