Ather Konarc Electric Scooter Spotted Ahead Of Launch; Read Details!

Ather Energy is all set to launch its new platform-based family electric scooter at the upcoming Ather Community Day on 29 August. The brand has already revealed the name of the upcoming scooter, which will be called the Ather Konarc. Now, ahead of its official launch, the test mule of the Ather Konarc electric scooter has been spotted testing. The test mule was heavily camouflaged but revealed some details about the design of the upcoming scooter. Read on for all the details about Ather’s upcoming family scooter below.

Ather Konarc - What's New?

The newly spotted test mule gives us a closer look at the design of the upcoming scooter. The design closely follows that of the concept showcased at last year’s Ather Community Day. It is also in line with the EL-01 concept, featuring smooth body panels and a rather simple, family-oriented design instead of the sharp and angular styling seen on the Ather 450 series.

The front profile gets a handlebar-mounted wide headlamp, an apron-mounted LED daytime running lamp (DRL), telescopic front forks, black alloy wheels, and a front disc brake. Overall, the design looks neat and more conventional, which should appeal to buyers looking for a practical family scooter.

The test mule was spotted with both a rider and a pillion, giving us an idea of the seating space. Both appeared to be seated on the scooter, suggesting it may have a long seat that accommodates two adults. The side profile looks simple and understated, while the rear was not clearly visible in the spy shots. However, the scooter is expected to feature a wide LED taillamp with integrated turn indicators.

On the features front, we expect the upcoming scooter to be well-equipped, much like the Ather Rizta. It is likely to get a new digital instrument cluster with the latest version of AtherStack, along with connected features, built-in navigation, and features such as Pothole Alert, Crash Alert, and over-the-air (OTA) updates.

In terms of hardware, the scooter is expected to feature a 14-inch front wheel and a 12-inch rear wheel, along with rear twin shock absorbers, telescopic front forks, a front disc brake, and a rear drum brake. We can clearly see a swingarm-mounted motor on the test mule. However, the specifications are still under wraps, and Ather is expected to reveal all the details about the scooter on 29 August.

Ather Konarc – Expected Price

The upcoming Ather Konarc will compete with the likes of the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Hero Vida V2, and other family-oriented electric scooters. We expect the price of the Ather Konarc to be in the range of Rs 1.20 lakh to Rs 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom). Ather already has a family-oriented electric scooter, the Rizta, in its portfolio. However, the new Konarc will be based on a new platform and is expected to feature an improved overall setup. It will be interesting to see how Ather positions the Konarc within its lineup and how competitively it prices the new electric scooter.
