Citroen Spacetourer Details: EV Van That Houses Nine!
Citroen is reportedly making a serious push to enter India's premium MPV segment, with the Citroen Spacetourer electric variant currently under evaluation for import. This strategic move aims to capitalize on the increasing demand for spacious and eco-friendly people movers. While the Spacetourer is globally available with both diesel and electric powertrains, only the EV version is being considered for the Indian market. Its eventual pricing could prove attractive if ongoing Free Trade Agreement (FTA) talks materialize, potentially reducing import duties on such completely built units (CBUs) and making this over 5-meter long, boxy MPV competitive against rivals like the upcoming MG M9.
A key highlight of the e-Spacetourer is its exceptionally versatile and spacious cabin, which leverages its inherent MPV body style for maximum utility. Passengers in both the second and third rows will benefit from a generous room, with comfortable captain chairs in the third row mirroring the comfort of the middle row. Certain configurations even offer a swiveling function for the middle-row seats, complemented by convenient fold-out tray tables, creating a highly adaptable and passenger-focused interior environment ideal for long journeys or executive travel.
Interior And Features
Inside the cabin, it's the seating capacity that is the highlight of it, where it can house up to a maximum of nine people. Other than that, the dashboard layout is minimalistic with a four-spoke steering wheel and a large infotainment screen with HVAC controls underneath. The feature list includes things like 17-inch diamond-cut alloys, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, 10-speaker system, wireless charger, cruise control and speed limiter, electric and heated ORVMs, automatic headlamps, auto wipers, 10-inch infotainment screen, and more.

Battery And Range Details
The Citroen Spacetourer is available in. selection of two battery pack options of 49 kWh and 75 kWh with a single 136hp electric motor. This electric vehicle is primarily offered with a 75kWh battery pack and delivers a claimed WLTP range of 348km on a single charge. While a short wheelbase variant with a smaller 49kWh battery and 320km range exists internationally, it's the more capacious long wheelbase version with the larger battery that's most likely to make its way to India, offering ample interior space and comfort.
Verdict
The Spacetourer is not your plush ride that could take on the MG M9 or the Kia Carnival, but offers something entirely different. It offers you the flexibility of carrying more people while being practically modern and offering a decent feature list. The lowering of import duty and trade agreements opens up a whole new avenue for internationally successful models seeking an entry into the doemstic market, but now at a much more affordable price point.
