Greaves Unveiled Arctic Tern Design For Upcoming Electric Vehicles

The e-mobility division of Greaves Cotton Limited, Greaves Electric Mobility Private Limited (GEMPL), has disclosed the origins of design inspiration for its upcoming electric 2 and 3 wheelers, which are scheduled to be unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo. The 'Arctic Tern', a graceful and resilient bird that travels an average annual round-trip distance of 60,000 miles per yearmore than twice the circumference of the earthserves as the inspiration for Greaves' planned EV product portfolio.

The Arctic Tern can move quickly through a variety of temperate zones, altitudes, and geographic regions thanks to its angular wings, streamlined form, and extremely aerodynamic and slender body. Similar aerodynamic effectiveness, sleek aesthetics, and lightweight form factors, which are crucial for an EV's ideal performance and experience, have been incorporated into the new array of EV goods.

Another crucial factor is technology and how it affects navigation, as the Arctic Tern is adept at long-distance flight navigation and sensitive to the earth's magnetic fields. Future EVs will be equipped with intelligent navigation systems that have simple UI/UX.

One of the largest and fastest-growing manufacturers of electric vehicles is GEMPL. While Bestway, with the ELE brand (e-rickshaw), and MRL Auto, with the Teja brand (e-autos & e-cargos), are the other two fast-growing businesses in the electric 3-wheeler market, "Ampere" is a fast-growing e-scooter brand in the country with a strong presence in both B2C and B2B segments.

Verdict: GEMPL will be able to introduce more appealing electric vehicles in the Indian market with the new design language for new-age electric vehicles. For more than 13 years, the company has been involved in the development of electric vehicle (EV) technologies as well as their design and production. with a solid customer base of about 1.7 lakh (170,000).
