Hero Xoom 125 Launched, Prices Start At Rs 86,900: New 125cc Engine, Segment-First Features And More

After showcasing it a few times previously, the Hero Xoom 125 has finally been launched officially in India at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo. To be available in two variants  VX and ZX, the prices of the new Xoom 125 start at Rs 86,900. The new Hero Xoom 160 will be available through regular Hero dealerships, with its bookings commencing in February 2025 and deliveries in March 2025.

Hero Xoom 125 Design And Features: A Youthful-Looking, Sporty Scooter

For the new Xoom 125, Hero MotoCorp has made little changes to the pre-production version showcased on a few occasions before. Featuring a sporty-looking design, the Hero Xoom 125 has sharp-looking body panels. The aggressive-looking fascia has apron-mounted LED projector headlamps with falcon-inspired LED position lamps, while the bold-looking rear profile has split LED tail lamps.

The Hero Xoom 125 also has split pillion grab rails, external fuel filler with remote opening and a full-LCD instrument console. In addition, the new Xoom 125 also has a couple of segment-first features like sequential LED turn indicators and an illuminated start switch, both exclusive to the more premium ZX variant. Additional features of the Xoom 125 include turn-by-turn navigation, front storage, a USB charging port, machined alloy wheels and a boot lamp, all restricted to the ZX variant.

Both variants of the Hero Xoom 125 are available in Metallic Turbo Blue and Matte Storm Grey colour choices as standard, with the ZX variant also being offered with Matte Neon Lime and Inferno Red colour schemes.

Powering the Hero Xoom 125 is a new four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 124.6cc engine, which has been shared with the recently launched Destini 125. However, for the Xoom 125, Hero MotoCorp has tweaked the engine, with it claiming 9.8 bhp @ 7,250 rpm and 10.4 Nm @ 6,000 rpm for the former. This engine also claims 7.6 seconds sprint time for the 0-60 kmph run, making it the new fastest-accelerating 125cc scooter in India.

Hero Xoom 125 Suspension And Brakes: An Agile And Dynamic Scooter To Ride

The Xoom 125 is Hero MotoCorps first 125cc scooter to come equipped with 14-inch wheels  cast alloys in VX and machined alloys in ZX  which have wide tubeless tyres  110/80-14 front and 120/70-14 rear. With a suspension setup comprising a telescopic fork at the front and a single-sided and adjustable shock absorber, the Hero Xoom 125 has a front disc and rear drum brakes.

Verdict

Filling the shoes of the now-defunct Maestro Edge 125, the new Hero Xoom 125 follows a sportier approach than the former. With a new performance-oriented engine and several trendy features, the new Xoom 125 should give a tough rivalry to the established sporty 125cc scooters like TVS Ntorq 125, Suzuki Avenis 125, Aprilia SR 125, Honda Dio 125 and Yamaha RayZR 125 FI Hybrid.
