Hero Xoom 160 Bookings Now By August 2025

Enthusiasts eagerly awaiting Hero MotoCorp's foray into the maxi-scooter segment will need to hold on a little longer. Initial reports suggested that the Hero Xoom 160, the company's highly anticipated flagship scooter, would begin reaching customers in April 2025. However, it now appears that deliveries have been rescheduled to August or September 2025 due to undisclosed internal factors. Consequently, dealerships have also temporarily suspended bookings for the Xoom 160 until the first batch of scooters arrives.
The Xoom 160, which made its debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 earlier this year, marks a significant departure for Hero MotoCorp with its maxi-scooter design. Unlike most other Hero two-wheelers, this premium model will be exclusively retailed through Hero Premia dealerships. As of late 2024, there were 40 such Premia dealerships across 35 major cities, with plans for further expansion. While the focus on the Xoom 160's rollout continues, the manufacturer is also reportedly prioritizing other key models in its lineup, including the recently introduced Xpulse 210, Xtreme 250R, and Xtreme 125R.

In terms of features, the Xoom 160 is well-equipped for modern riders. It boasts full LED lighting, a smart key system, remote key ignition, and a digital instrument console. For handling and comfort, the scooter utilizes telescopic front forks and dual rear shock absorbers, while the braking confidence comes from a front disc brake and a rear drum brake, complemented by ABS for added safety.
Engine Details

Underneath its stylish maxi-scooter exterior, the Hero Xoom 160 packs a punch with a 156cc, liquid-cooled engine. This powerplant, paired with a CVT automatic transmission, delivers a healthy 14.6bhp and 14Nm of torque, promising brisk acceleration and smooth cruising.
The pricing for this starts at Rs. 1.48 lakhs ex-showroom and rivals the likes of Yamaha Aerox 155, and other more potent scooters.
Verdict
The maxi scooter segment is India is still in its nascent stages where not a lot of competitors are tussling for the spot, which is mainly because there is no significant demand for it either. However, once Hero enters the market with the Xoom 160, it would be intersting to see if buyers are ready to shell out this much cash for a scooter, when the duties are handled pretty well by other much affordable scooters currently in the Indian market.
