Oben EV, Indias new electric-two-wheeler manufacturer announced their debut electric motorcycle. The Rorr will be launched by Q1 2022, and delivery will start from Q2.
Oben EV announced their debut electric motorcycle, the Rorr. This is the first of four electric two-wheelers, that the company will launch every 6 months over the next 2 years. The Rorr stands out with a unique retro design, complemented by a round headlamp. And as Oben EV calls it, the Floating Battery concept, the co-founders believe will help them penetrate its target audience, who want a progressive-looking motorcycle with new-age styling and a comfortable riding experience.

"Ms. Madhumita Agrawal, Co-Founder, Oben Electric said, We have brought together a core team of experts who specialize in every aspect of the E2W life cycle. This has enabled us to go beyond assembling of vehicles to truly creating a product from scratch for the Indian consumer. " She further added, "Oben Electric is geared-up with multi-level testing, durability, safety & connectivity to address a white space in the segment, said.
Mr. Dinkar Agrawal, Co-Founder, Oben Electric, said, We have raised a total of $2.5 million through VC funding, which is the highest seed round raised by an E2W startup." This has enabled the company to focus on consumer safety and delight and come up with solutions to enable the shift from ICE to EV. Over the next few years, we intend to be a global player with our specialized products.
The Rorr will be powered by a lithium-ion battery, the capacity of which has not been revealed yet. Irrespective of that, Oben EV claims that the motorcycle has an IDC claimed range of 200 kms. This puts the Rorr, amongst the top three electric two-wheelers with the most range slotting it between the Simple One electric scooter that has 236 kms of range, and the Ola S1 Pro, which can do 181 kilometers of range. Performance-wise, the Rorr is a high-speed motorcycle with a top speed of 100 kmph, and it can do 0-40 kmph in claimed 3 seconds.

The Rorr will have a price range between Rs. 1.00 lakh to Rs. 1.50 lakh. There is no confirmation about the trim levels, but the founders have assured us that there will be variants of the Rorr. Currently, the motorcycle is in its advanced stage of development, the launch will be by Q1 2022 and deliveries will resume from Q2 2022. Oben EV aims to manufacture 2 lakh vehicles per annum from their manufacturing plant.
