Ola S1 and S1 Pro Test Rides to Start in 1,000 Cities Across India

In the next phase, on November 27, the company will open the test rides of Ola S1 and S1 Pro in cities like Visakhapatnam, Thiruvananthapuram, Vadodara, Nagpur and Jaipur

Ola Electric has recently announced India's biggest-ever EV test ride program by offering test rides of its S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters to customers in 1,000 cities across the country. Under the electric vehicle manufacturer's latest initiative, customers who have purchased or booked the Ola S1 or the Ola S1 Pro are eligible for test rides. In a later phase, the test rides will be made available even to all the prospective customers.

A few weeks ago, the electric vehicle manufacturer had commenced test rides of the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro in major towns like Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Bangalore. The initiative was later expanded to Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kochi and Chennai. In the next phase, on November 27, the company will open the test rides in cities like Visakhapatnam, Thiruvananthapuram, Vijayawada, Coimbatore, Surat, Kozhikode, Bhubaneswar, Vadodara, Nagpur and Jaipur.

In line with this, the company plans to add even more cities to the list to ensure that its customers can experience the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro. The next lot of cities where test rides are bound to commence will be announced on December 15. Ola even intends to introduce its scooters abroad and export them to the UK, New Zealand, Australia, Europe, South East Asia and other countries from its Futurefactory in India.

Prices of the new Ola Electric Scooter starts in India from Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom), and while the Ola S1 gets a 2.98kWh non-removable battery, the S1 Pro gets a 3.97kWh unit. The Ola S1 and the S1 Pro can be fully charged in a claimed 4.4 hours and 6.30 hours respectively via a home charger. With the help of a fast charger, 0-50 per cent battery can be achieved in 15 minutes

Speaking on the development, Arun Sirdeshmukh, Chief Business Officer, Ola Electric, said, We are scaling up test rides rapidly in the coming weeks and will be covering over 1,000 cities and towns across India to ensure every customer has access to test rides by mid-December. This is the fastest national scale-up of test rides ever and a revolution in automotive retail made possible by our direct-to-consumer model."
