VAAN Electric Moto Introduces Advanced e-Cycle In India - Details

As the Indian automobile industry is shifting towards electric mobility, VAAN Electric Moto, an advanced e-mobility startup launched an advanced electric cycle in the Indian market. The e-cycles were launched by the Union Minister of State for Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, Electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar. 

The electric cycle will be available in two variants Urbansport and Urbansport Pro. The former one is priced at Rs 62,999 and the latter asks for a premium of Rs 73,499. The cycles are planned to first go on sale in Kochi, followed by Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Goa, and Delhi in future.

Urbansport and Urbansport Pro on a full charge can run upto 60kms with a top-speed of 25 km/hr. It also comes with a removal 48V 7.5Ah lithium ion battery pack that can be fully charged in just four hours. The difference in both the electric cycles can be seen with the design language.

Both the e-cycles are designed and engineered by Benelli with a compact unisex aluminium frame, Benelli lightweight rims, and Benelli Saddle. It comes equipped with front and rear disc brakes, Shimano Tourney 7-speed gearbox, 5-levels Electronic Gear, Speed Sensor, Spinner USA front forks, and Pedal Power Assist. Urbansport sports Stainless steel (Benelli) rims whereas the Urbansport Pro comes with Lightweight alloys from Benelli.

Commenting on the launch, VAAN Electric Moto said, VAAN has tied with them for engineering and supply chain and has worked closely with the Benelli team for the development of the Urbansport duo. 

The electric cycles look quite advanced and unique in terms of design and technology. As the time has come to adopt electric mobility, it is necessary to introduce such innovations in the market to promote electric mobility. The e-cycles also feature a smart LCD on the handlebar that displays basic information with headlight and rear light controls. 

According to VAAN Electric Moto, The Urbansport is the most practical of the two and gets 20 inch spoke wheels, a carrier that can carry up to 15 kilograms and an exposed electric motor. Urbansport Pro is a more stylish and premium e-bike that offers alloy wheels and an electric motor that is neatly integrated into the rear hub.
