1. Hybrid Set-up

The biggest update for 2025 Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid is the introduction of a mild-hybrid system, similar to what we saw earlier on the FZ-S. This includes a Smart Motor Generator (SMG) that provides electric assist during acceleration, improving efficiency and offering a smoother ride. Yamaha has also integrated a silent start system and engine start/stop functionality to enhance fuel savings and refinement in city traffic.
2. Updated TFT Console- Turn-by-Turn Navigation, And More

The new FZ-X Hybrid features a 4.2-inch full-digital TFT display, a significant upgrade from the LCD screen on the standard version. It brings more data to the rider's fingertips in a visually crisp format and adds a more premium feel to the rider's surroundings. Thanks to Yamaha's Y-Connect app, the TFT console now offers smartphone connectivity with features like SMS and call alerts, real-time bike information, and even Google Maps-powered turn-by-turn navigation. This adds a layer of tech-savvy practicality, especially useful for urban riders.
3. Engine Details

Mechanically, the FZ-X Hybrid retains the same 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that makes 12.4PS at 7,250rpm and 13.3Nm at 5,500rpm. It's mated to a 5-speed gearbox and comes with features like a traction control system, side stand engine cut-off, all-LED lighting, and a USB charging port.
4. Paintjob: New & Exclusive

The FZ-X Hybrid gets an exclusive new paint scheme called Matte Titan, a matte light green shade that enhances the bike's neo-retro appeal, which interestingly, is also the only colour that you can have with the Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid. Meanwhile, the standard FZ-X continues to be available in Matte Blue and Metallic Black.

5. Price Premium
With the added hybrid tech and upgraded features, the FZ-X Hybrid is priced at Rs 1,49,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi), Rs 20,000 more than the standard variant, which remains available at Rs 1,29,990 ans the hike seems justified considering the tech improvements and additional equipment.
Verdict
The Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid builds on the strong foundation of the standard model by introducing smart hybrid technology and meaningful feature upgrades, making it a more tech-savvy and efficient commuter. While the Rs. 20,000 price jump over the base variant might feel steep to some, the added benefits like improved mileage, smoother starts, and advanced connectivity features justify the premium for urban riders looking for a future-ready motorcycle.
