Yamaha WR155 R Spied
The Yamaha WR155 R has been spotted undisguised in Bengaluru with temporary registration, likely for a TVC shoot. It was dressed in Yamaha's iconic blue; the bike has a tall stance, an exposed frame, and a high-mounted exhaust to underline its off-road DNA. Meanwhile, that minimal taillight at the rear adds a neat touch to it. The WR155 R is a popular model in Indonesia and Thailand, where it is positioned as dual-purpose for off-road as well the city commutes.
Specifications
Built on a semi-double cradle frame, which remains suspended on telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock setup at the rear. However, the bike rides on 21-inch wheels at the front and 18-inch wheels at the rear. Moving the numbers, it has 245mm ground clearance and 880mm of saddle height, which is significantly higher than most of the bikes in India. But these numbers make it a true off-road machine.
Engine
The Yamaha WR155 R is powered by the 155cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine, which comes with VVA (Variable Valve Actuation). This same comes equipped with the outgoing models like R15 and MT-15. Going by the numbers, it belts out 16.7 PS and 14.3 Nm of torque when mated with a 6-speed gearbox.
The Yamaha WR155 R is expected to launch on November 11 at the brand's upcoming event. This event will witness two new launches, the WR155 R and the XSR 155.
