What we admire in this car
It gives a proper SUV stance with its big Body and sharp body lines
The more blingy design gives it a new look after the facelift
It comes loaded with features. For example, it has a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It also has auto-turn indicators and projector LED headlamps. Plus, a panoramic sunroof, wireless connectivity, an electric tailgate, and an 8-speaker Infinity S
It offers many safety features. These include level-2 ADAS with a 360-camera, 6 airbags, all-4 disc brakes, front parking sensors, ESP, hill-hold assist, and a traction control system.
It is available in multiple seating options. The standard is a 5-seater. The Hector Plus is available in a 6- and 7-seater option.
Powerful turbo petrol and diesel engines are available. The diesel motor is torquey and fuel-efficient.
The Hector's interior has a premium appeal. It has leatherette seats, door trims, ambient lighting, and comfortable seating.
The interior is very spacious and the cabin can easily accommodate 5-adults
A smooth CVT gearbox is on offer
The 5-seater variant offers humongous boot space of 587 litres
What could have been better
The chrome on the front grille is a bit over, and might not appeal to everyone
The touchscreen infotainment is smooth and crisp but not driver-friendly
The touchscreen integrates the AC controls. It takes a bit of effort to control aircon settings while driving.
The diesel engine comes with a manual transmission only. There is no option for a diesel automatic variant.
ADAS is available in petrol variants only
The turbo petrol motor is not much fuel efficient which can be a bummer in city traffic
The substantial size of the body accentuates the body roll within the cabin
In the Plus variants, the third row is confined and is best suited for children
