JSW-MG Motor India has introduced the E20-compliant Hector at Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The E20-compliant Hector will be available with the 1.5-litre petrol engine option only. 2025 MG Hector - What's New?
The new Hector 1.5-litre petrol variant comes with a manual and a CVT gearbox option. All the petrol variants of the Hector rolled out from MG's factory after 31 March are E20 compliant. The government has mandated E20 compliance in gasoline-fuelled vehicles manufactured post-April 1, 2025. The brand has updated the Astor with an E20-compliant engine last year to meet the government compliance
The Hector comes with two engine options: a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine produces 143 PS of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes with a 6-speed manual and a CVT gearbox. The 2.0-litre diesel engine produces 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Verdict
The new MG Hector now complies with government regulation. The new E20 engine does not brings in any change in the performance of the engine. The Hector continues to offer the same set of feature and safety as the previous model. It continues to compete with the Tata Harrier, Hyundai Alcazar and other SUVs.
