Good Design and Maintenance
With a good design and solid build quality, the Lancer—launched in the early 2000s—became popular among enthusiasts for its strong road presence. It is powered by a 2.0-liter engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, offering good pickup and a mileage of around 14 to 15 km/l. The car is very reliable, and its body feels strong and durable. It features a good AC and decent interiors. As for spare parts, they are easily available in the market, though slightly expensive. While it lacks modern safety features like airbags and ABS, the braking performance is still excellent. Maintenance costs are not too high. Overall, the Lancer is a better option to own than a Maruti Suzuki in India.
