Bolero Neo Highlights

On Target

A rebadged version of the TUV300 capitalizing on the strong brand recall of the Bolero name.

Pros

The only compact SUV with genuine off-roading ability and a ladder frame chassis. The diesel feels refined and torquey.

Cons

Lacks many modern features and no option of an automatic gearbox, the interior also feels crude and dated.

Engine
The Mahindra Bolero Neo is a great car with toughness, a frugal diesel engine, and decent features on offer. It is a well-put-together machine and good comfort on offer. Since it has +2 seats on offer, it is best suited for kids and apart has decent boot space. It is fuel efficient as well and in tier-2 and tier-3 towns. The overall aesthetics of the car are more old-school SUVish than an urban-modern day SUV.

Mast and Strom Performance

It looks really and stylish. The car seems very strong and impressive. It looks very good, although I haven’t sat in it yet—I’ve only seen it from a distance so far.

The Mahindra Bolero Neo is tested under the latest Global NCAP crash test protocols and scores a disappointing 1-star rating for both adult and child occupant protection. The SUV’s structure shows instability in frontal impact, with weak chest and foot protection for the driver, lack of side head protection, and no seat belt reminder (SBR) systems, contributing to its low score. The test also highlights absence of critical safety elements like passenger airbag deactivation switch and proper three-point belts in all positions, raising concerns about overall occupant safety despite standard dual airbags and ABS with EBD.
