TVS XL 100 Detailed Review
As a moped, the TVS XL 100 is precisely what you would expect. The 100cc TVS XL 100 is a rural market moped that is primarily used as a load carrier. There are a few contemporary accents scattered throughout. The XL 100 now has LED DRLs up front, giving it a much more contemporary look, but that is the sole aesthetic modification. There isn't much to brag about in terms of design save the new body graphics and the better-cushioned seats.
The XL was made with utility in mind, despite the fact that it has a very outmoded appearance. To accommodate luggage, the XL 100 has a lengthy footboard between the seats. Additionally, it offers a storage area for small objects next to the footboard. Since it is a heavy-duty vehicle, it also has a removable rear seat for carrying large amounts of luggage.
Additionally, the XL receives a sturdy metal body that will last the test of time. Additionally, the car is equipped with ergonomic handlebars that improve riding posture and offer comfort. It has a box-shaped tail lamp up front and a traditional-looking body-colored fender on the back. The XL 100 is available in two different colour schemes: green and black.
Summary
Alloy wheels and a new headlamp design could have made the TVS XL 100 more appealing. However, the seats are well cushioned and comfortable.
XL 100 body specifications:
| Ground Clearance | 150 mm |

The TVS XL 100 has the following dimensions: 1895 mm in length, 670 mm in width, and 1077 mm in height. The moped has a 1228 mm wheelbase. It boasts a respectable 158 mm of ground clearance. With a curb weight of 88 kg and a fuel tank size of 4 litres, the new TVS XL 100 is a gearless moped. Given the size of the moped, the XL 100's load carrying capability of 130 kg is outstanding.
Summary
The XL 100 has decent ground clearance and load-carrying capacity considering the fact that it is a moped. However, when there is luggage or load, the exhaust tends to rub against the tarmac when the rider encounters a speed bump. The vehicle weighs just 88kgs so handling it would be a breeze.

A 99.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine with EcoThrust Fuel Injection that complies with BS6 powers the TVS XL 100. The motor produces a peak torque of 6.5 Nm at 3500 rpm along with a maximum power output of 4.3 bhp of maximum power at 6000 rpm. The 99.7cc engine has excellent initial pick-up and is extremely responsive. It can carry weights up to 130 kg and provides a respectable performance for city commuting.
Summary
The TVS XL 100 offers good performance with a strong pick-up. The moped is also quite fuel-efficient and manages to deliver around 55-67 kmpl of mileage in real-world riding conditions.
XL 100 engine specifications:
| Transmission | Automatic |
| Mileage | 53.5-80 |
| Engine | 99.7 cc |
There are drum brakes on both of its wheels. As for the brakes, the XL 100 comes equipped with drum brakes of the size 110 mm on the front and the rear. The drum brakes provide decent feedback and bite and are efficient considering the weight and power of the moped.
Along with having a silent electric starting and a USB charging connector, it also comes in an i-Touchstart version. There is a nicer Winner Edition model that comes with a few visual upgrades such a metal footboard, dual-tone seat with a quilted pattern, beige bodywork, and chrome mirror and exhaust shield.
Summary
The TVS XL 100 offers a good ride quality and strong brake, thereby making it a robust vehicle that comes at an affordable price.
