As per the latest official report, Bajaj will now manage Triumph's operations in India. Currently, Triumph India has a total of 15 showrooms. All of these will now be managed by Bajaj. Additionally, Bajaj will also manufacture the first JV bike that is the upcoming Scrambler. In 2020, Bajaj & Triumph shook hands to co-jointly develop and manufacture mid-segment premium bikes. Hence, the Scrambler is going to be the first by-product of this JV.

Now, as Bajaj is going to make this upcoming bike; its pricing is anticipated to remain competitive. However, online rumors suggest to us that there will be at least 2 models that will be launched. The first will be a retro-neo roadster while the second model will be a scrambler based on it. Also, these both models will likely be based on a 350-400cc platform. The main aim of these upcoming bikes is to establish the Triumph brand name in a specific segment. Currently, bikes like KTM Duke 390 & BMW G 310 R rule this segment. Also, Bajaj operating Triumph will mean more showrooms to open soon. Additionally, the service centers might also increase in terms of volume pan India.

Verdict

As the partnership aims, Bajaj-Triumph will work on more models in the near future. Hence, we can expect newer platforms like ADVs and roadsters to roll out soon. But, for now, it is the Scrambler that is awaited from this JV. We're expecting that it'll launch by the upcoming festive season. Speaking of its prices, we suspect that it'll be positioned somewhere around Rs 2.50-3 lakh ex-showroom.
