OBD-2B Upgrade

2025 Hero Splendor Plus

Splendor Plus will soon meet the OBD-2B (On-Board Diagnostics 2B) standard, which will bring more advanced emission monitoring into the spotlight. These updates are not just regulatory checkboxes; they ensure real-time tracking of vehicle emissions via onboard diagnostics. Any deviation from the expected emission behaviour now triggers a malfunction indicator. This improves long-term environmental compliance and serviceability.

The integration of this system monitors crucial components like the oxygen sensor, fuel system, catalytic converter, and potential engine misfires. This update, however, won't affect the motorcycle's core performance. The tried-and-tested 97.2cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine continues to deliver an efficient output of 8.02 PS and 8.05 Nm, supported by a 5-speed gearbox that favours smooth city rides and daily commutes.

2025 Hero Splendor Plus: Spy Shots Hint Cosmetic Refresh

2025 Hero Splendor Plus

Recent spy images captured near Hero's R&D facility in Rajasthan have sparked conversation in motorcycling circles. While the overall silhouette and body panels remain largely familiar, we have noticed what could be newly stylized side panel graphics, suggesting Hero might be eyeing a more polished and premium visual identity for the 2025 model.

Although there's no confirmation yet, it wouldn't be surprising if Hero introduces a new set of colour schemes to inject freshness into the lineup. This visual upgrade could help maintain the model's emotional connection with its vast customer base.

Chassis and Features

Mechanically, the Splendor Plus remains unchanged. It retains its lightweight double-cradle frame, 18-inch tubeless tyres, and basic drum brake setup on both ends, supported by Hero's Integrated Braking System (IBS) for added safety. The suspension setup - telescopic forks at the front and adjustable dual shocks at the rear.

Weighing just 112 kg with a respectable ground clearance of 165 mm, the Splendor Plus has long been regarded as an easy-to-handle, city-friendly motorcycle.

Current Variants and Colour Portfolio

Currently, the Splendor Plus range starts from Rs. 77,176 (ex-showroom), with variants like the i3S-equipped model and the stealthy all-black edition retailing at Rs. 78,426. The standout Splendor+ 01 Edition, draped in Matt Axis Grey and adorned with exclusive graphics, is positioned slightly higher at Rs. 79,926-appealing to customers who prefer a more stylish commuter without breaking the bank.

Colour options available across the range include combinations like Black Grey Stripe, Force Silver, Sports Red Black and Blue Black, catering to a variety of aesthetic preferences.

Verdict

While the Splendor+ may not see revolutionary changes in 2025, its consistent evolution- backed by regulatory updates and timely cosmetic tweaks - keeps it relevant and reliable for millions. As competitors continue to push out tech-heavy offerings, Hero's subtle yet strategic approach with the Splendor+ ensures it stays firmly rooted in its position as India's most trusted motorcycle.
