2025 Honda CB1000 Hornet Launched; Details

honda cb1000 hornet

The CB1000 Hornet was first shown at the 2023 EICMA, and one look at it would probably remind you of certain other Italiam nakeds. However, the new Hornet is Honda's reimagination of what its ultimate naked flagship should be, as it replaces the neo-retro CB1000 R. It comes with a modern streetfighter design, featuring a beefy fuel tank giving it a muscular stance, along with sharp visual elements, compact fenders, an upswept tail section and a stubby exhaust pipe. The split LED headlamps will also remind you of other performance streetfighters, which is not really a bad thing.

The CB1000 Hornet shares its powertrain with the 2017 CBR1000RR Fireblade, but with many internal changes having taken place. It is a 1000cc, liquid-cooled four-cylinder unit which produces 155bhp at 11,000rpm and 107Nm of torque at 9000rpm. The 6-speed gearbox comes with a quickhifter as standard.

The bike sits on a new twin-spar frame, which hangs off of 41mm Showa SFF big-piston forks, along with an Ohlins TTX monoshock and a pro-link swingarm at the rear. For braking, Honda has deployed 310mm twin discs up front with radially-mounted Nissin four-piston callipers, along with a 240mm disc with a Nissin single-piston calliper at the rear. The bike makes use of 17-inch wheels with alloy rims on both ends, and it tips the scales at 212kg.

In terms of features, the CB1000 Hornet comes with a 5-inch colour TFT with RoadSync connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and call/SMS alerts. There are three default riding modes on offer, along with two custom modes, and it also comes with four-level Honda Selectable Torque Control, engine braking control and wheelie control.

Verdict

The CB1000 Hornet goes up against the Kawasaki Z900 and the Suzuki Katana if we speak of direct specifications. Honda has been on quite a roll of late, and we hope that they continue this good form with more products.
