In response to the COVID-19 crisis, VE Commercial Vehicles has launched Eicher Skyline Ambulance to provide modern and efficient mobile medical services to patients in distress.
The global pandemic has indeed brought humanity to its knees. At times of medical emergencies, families found it extremely difficult to reach a hospital or medical service unit for immediate medical benefits. This was one problem among the huge heap of problems that the pandemic introduced often with its new iterations
Mobility remains an issue during these tough times. It is impossible to take high-risk patients to a nearby hospital in time due to their extremely deteriorating condition. At this juncture, all one could hope for is a mobile medical unit. Hence, with regards to the conditions of patients, VE commercial vehicles have fast-tracked the release of Eicher Skyline Ambulance.
About The Ambulance:
The ambulance has been designed to offer better comfort and safety. It has best-in-class features to serve the patients. The vehicle gets a warranty of up to 3 years which is impressive for a commercial vehicle. The company also mentioned that the ambulance has customisable features which meet the AIS standard B, C and D and can also function as a mobile medical unit.
The Brand new Eicher Skyline Ambulance has all the requirements under the National Ambulance Code AIS 125. The vehicle gets the Eicher E366 BS-VI compliant engine which churns out 100Hp (75kW) and torque of 285Nm at a peak range of 3200Rpm. It gets a tiltable driver cabin for easy access during maintenance and is certified for safety with the ECER- 29-02 crash test.

The ambulance has been designed to meet the Covid safety requirements such as a separation wall between driver and patient. VECV added that this Eicher Skyline Ambulance is the safest in the country since it gets disc brakes on all wheels. The vehicle also features a DRL headlamp unit so that other vehicles get better visibility of the ambulance during heavy rain or during bad weather conditions. It also gets the Eicher LIVE technology and GPS tracking as a standard feature. The Eicher Skyline Ambulance has 270-degree opening rear doors that enable easy access in and out of the rear compartment.
In addition to these features, the vehicle is equipped with Eicher's Mbooster+ tech and fuel coaching under which three modes are available to get better fuel efficiency.
When it comes to patient comfort, the vehicle is equipped with auto-loading stretchers and to provide quick service to the patients in distress, the vehicle comes with medical cabinets and provision for an oxygen cylinder. The vehicle also comes in two options- One with an A/C unit and the other without air conditioning. Also, there are three variants- TYPE-B, TYPE-C and TYPE-D which are meant for patient transport, basic life support and advanced life support respectively.
Commenting on the announcement, Vinod Aggarwal, MD and CEO, VE Commercial Vehicles said, "At this time when India is fighting the second wave of Covid we aim to support the medical fraternity with our new offering of Eicher Skyline Ambulances."

The Original Equipment Manufacturer has also donated two Eicher Skyline Ambulances to the Madhya Pradesh Government as a contribution to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
