Citroen has started the trial production of C5 Aircross in India and has rolled out its first model. The C5 Aircross will be a CKD SUV and the expected price will be sub Rs 30 lakh mark. The upcoming Citroen C5 Aircross will be locally assembled that is brought in via CKD route. Had it been a CBU then the cost would have been higher than Rs 30 lakh mark. Since it is a CKD SUV, it will come in a single variant with all the bells and whistles.
Feature-wise it will come with a panoramic sunroof, split LED headlights, electronic parking brake, dual-zone climate control, electrically adjustable driver's seat and among others. For entertainment purpose, it will come with a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen unit with modern connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The mechanicals of this SUV will come with a single 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine which makes as much as 180 bhp and will get an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Earlier, the plan was to bring a smaller 1.5L diesel which made 131 bhp but looking at the expected Rs 30 lakh price mark, a bigger engine makes more sense.
