First Batch of Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro Finally Out for Delivery to Customers

After several delays, Ola Electric will finally commence the delivery of their flagship S1 and S1 Pro models.

After debuting way back on August 15, Ola Electric will finally commence the delivery of their first batch of S1 and S1 Pro scooters. Though the delivery was supposed to happen between October-November, it got postponed mainly due to the chip shortage issue. Irrespective of that, now Ola Electric will finally start the delivery of the S1 and S1 Pro on the 15^th of December.

To commemorate the occasion, Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO-Ola Electric shared a video of production-spec ready S1 and S1 Pro, being loaded onto the truck bay area and leaving the Futurefactory. For the uninitiated, Ola follows a direct-to-customer sales model that does not involve any dealership or third-party intermediaries in between. So, the electric scooters that left the factory will directly reach their owners.

Irrespective of that, these electric scooters have had quite the build-up both pre and post-launch. First, it was the overwhelming response of Rs 1,100 crore worth of bookings in just two days. This was followed by nearly 30,000 test rides for its customers, which again happened after several delays in November 20. Secondly, the production line is completely managed by an all-women workforce. The Futurefactory is spread over 500 acres of land, and employs more than 10,000 women. These credentials and miscellaneous information really amped up the popularity of Ola Electrics debut scooter.  

As far as the scooters are concerned, both the S1 and S1 Pro come in several funky, exterior color options. The formers cost Rs. 1.00 lakh, and the latter is priced at Rs. 1.30 lakh. These ex-showroom prices are inclusive of FAME II subsidy but exclude State subsidy. Spec-wise, the S1 packs in a 2.98 kWh non-removable battery that can do 121 km of distance in one single charge. The S1 Pro packs in a bigger 3.97 kWh battery that can do 181 km on a full charge. Both the scooters have peak power at 8.5 kW (11. 3bhp) and 58 Nm of torque, but the S1 Pro can do a top speed of 115 kmph, while the S1 can do 90 kmph.
