Harley-Davidson X440 Is Here To Beat The Rivals - Launch On July 4!

Harley-Davidson X440 Details

Harley-Davidson has been planning for a long time to introduce a new mid-segment premium bike. In fact, Harley has tied up with Hero MotoCorp in India to manufacture this upcoming bike. A few weeks back, images of the production-ready X440 leaked online. However, Harley has now revealed it officially. It gets a proper roadster design with neo-retro elements. For example, the headlight unit is a round LED. Similarly, the turn indicators are round in shape and so are the rearview mirrors. Meanwhile, the rest of the design appeals to the latest roadster layout.

Harley has used smart design cues all over it. A sculpted fuel tank, a large single seat, & a relaxed riding position is what X440 is all about. Additionally, it gets an all-black appeal to it with a blacked-out engine and mechanical components. Even the 18-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels are machine-cut with dual-tone. In terms of features, it gets USD suspension at the front. Also, it gets disc brakes at both of its ends. Hence, we also expect that it'll get a dual-channel ABS as well.

Meanwhile, Harley has not revealed the details about its features and engine. But, we suspect that it'll be equipped with a 440cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. This engine is supposed to compete with rivals like Royal Enfield Hunter 350 & Honda CB350 RS. We anticipate that it'll make a peak power of around 30 bhp. Also, a 6-speed transmission is expected to feature on it. The most important fact is that Hero will manufacture it in India as well as for the global markets. Hence, its pricing is also going to be aggressive for a Harley badge.

Verdict

Harley-Davidson X440 is the second attempt of the company to make an affordable yet performance-rich bike. Harley used to sell the Street 750 in India which performed decently as per the expectations. However, with the industry evolving now; the X440 looks to be promising. It'll be launched globally on the upcoming July 4. Therefore, its launch in India can be expected before the end of 2023. We're expecting that it'll bear a price tag of around Rs 2.5-3 lakh.
