Hero has adopted an aggressive strategy by pricing the Destini 110 lower than its rival. The base VX Cast Drum variant is available at Rs. 72,000, while the top-spec ZX Cast Disc variant is priced at Rs. 79,000 (ex-showroom).

Honda, on the other hand, positions the Activa 6G slightly higher, starting at Rs. 74,369 and stretching close to Rs. 87,693 depending on the trim. This means that Hero gives buyers a more accessible entry point, while Honda's higher trims demand a premium for the brand's tried-and-tested reputation.

Engine and Performance

Under the skin, both scooters are closely matched. The Hero Destini 110 uses a 110.9cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 8 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 8.87 Nm at 5,500 rpm.

In comparison, the Honda Activa 110 relies on its 109.51cc motor that develops 7.88 bhp at 8,000 rpm and a slightly higher torque of 9.05 Nm at the same 5,500 rpm.

Power is sent to the rear wheel via a CVT automatic gearbox in both cases, ensuring effortless city commutes. The Activa, however, feels a touch more responsive in stop-go traffic thanks to its lighter kerb weight of 106 kg, whereas the Destini tips the scales at around 114 kg, offering a more planted but less flickable ride.

Fuel Efficiency and Range

Fuel economy is often a key deciding factor in this segment, and both scooters try to deliver. Hero claims the Destini 110 can return an impressive 59 kmpl, giving it a riding range of more than 300 km on a full tank.

The Honda Activa, though slightly behind in claimed numbers, is no slouch either, delivering around 47-50 kmpl in real-world conditions, translating to roughly 250 km before needing a refill. This means the Destini has the upper hand for buyers who value maximum distance per tankful.

Features

This is where the differences really come to light. The Destini has been designed to appeal to modern buyers with a long list of equipment. It gets a projector LED headlamp, an H-shaped LED tail-lamp, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and Hero's i3S idle stop-start system which saves fuel during traffic halts. The ZX variant even comes with a pillion backrest, enhancing comfort for family use.

The Honda Activa, in contrast, takes a more conservative approach as most of the features available are reserved for the H-smart variant. But even the standard variant doesn't miss out on basic features like an external fuel filler cap and an engine start-stop switch make refuelling and operation easier. Honda's silent-start ACG motor is another highlight, ensuring refined performance every time the scooter is fired up. While the higher H-smart trim of the Activa do offer extra tech like a TFT display with smart connectivity, it come at a noticeably higher price.

Comfort and Rideability

When it comes to comfort, both scooters serve their purpose but in slightly different ways. The Hero Destini offers the longest seat in its class at 785mm, which, combined with the optional backrest, makes it particularly family-friendly. Larger 12-inch wheels and the option of a front disc brake add to its sense of stability and safety.

The Activa, however, shines with its lighter build and agile nature, making it easy to handle in crowded city lanes or for riders who are just starting out.
