JK Tyre Launches New EV Specific Radial Tyres -Details

Tyre manufacturers are entering the market for EV-specific tyres in an effort to expand the nation's EV mobility and satisfy EV demands. JK Tyre has developed a new smart radial tyre designed specifically for EVs. The new "Ranger HPE" from JK Tyre is an EV-specific tyre that will be offered for buses, trucks, and passenger cars. The tyre is manufactured to meet the requirements of electric automobiles. The tyre was created by engineers at the Raghupati Singhania Center of Excellence, a global technology centre (RPSCOE).

The new EV-specific tyres, according to the manufacturer, provide "ultra-low rolling resistance, enhanced wet and dry traction, higher durability, and lower energy usage." The tread pattern has been designed using cutting-edge FEA simulations for lower noise and better wear characteristics to suit the demanding lower noise criteria of EVs.

The smart tyres are equipped with in-house created and refined Treel TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system) sensors and are made to match the stringent performance requirements of electric trucks, buses, LCVs, PVs, SUVs, and two-wheelers. The EV tyre line is designed in tubeless sizes of 17.5 inches and 22.5 inches for all types of buses, trucks, and LCVs. Currently, JBM e-buses receive the EV tyre (255/70R22.5 & 295/80R22.5) range.
