Kinetic DX & DX+ Gets More Powerful with an Upgraded 3.1 kWh LFP Battery: All Details Here
Kinetic has given its electric scooter range a significant update with the introduction of the DX+ 3.1 kWh, bringing a larger battery, more range, and additional convenience features to the familiar DX platform. The latest version retains the retro-inspired, all-metal design associated with the Kinetic DX while getting an updated electric powertrain aimed at making it more practical for everyday urban use.
The updated DX range is offered in two versions - the Kinetic DX 3 kWh and Kinetic DX+ 3.1 kWh. The latter is the more feature-rich variant and gets the new 3.1 kWh LFP battery, with Kinetic claiming an IDC range of up to 132 km on a single charge.

3.1 kWh LFP Battery and 132 km Claimed Range
The headline change is the larger 3.1 kWh LFP battery pack on the DX+. According to Kinetic, it is designed to offer a combination of range, durability, and everyday usability. The scooter has a claimed 132 km IDC range, while the company says riders can expect around 105-110 km in real-world conditions.
The battery is paired with a 3.8 kW peak-power hub-mounted BLDC motor. Rather than focusing purely on outright performance, the setup has been developed around urban riding, with Kinetic aiming for a responsive and easy-to-use experience in everyday traffic. There is also K-Coast Tech, which enables power regeneration during deceleration. The system can recover energy while slowing down, helping improve efficiency during regular stop-and-go riding.
Charging is designed around everyday use
Kinetic has also worked on reducing the inconvenience associated with charging. The DX+ gets an Easy Charge system, along with support for quick charging that can take the battery from 0 to 80 per cent in approximately three hours. The scooter gets two riding modes - Range and Power, allowing riders to prioritise efficiency or performance depending on their requirements. The DX+ also comes with a retractable charging cable as part of its equipment package.
More than Just a Battery Upgrade
While the battery is the main talking point, the DX+ gets several features aimed at improving its practicality in daily use. One of these is Park Assist with Reverse, which should make moving the scooter around in tight parking areas and congested urban spaces easier. The scooter also has IP67 water and dust protection, adding another layer of protection for regular use across different weather and road conditions.
Storage is another strong point, with the DX+ offering a 37-litre under-seat storage compartment. It also gets an Easy Flip one-touch pillion footrest and telematics.
Hardware and Chassis details
The DX+ uses a 1,315 mm wheelbase and gets 165 mm of ground clearance. It rides on 12-inch tubeless tyres at both ends, with 100/80-12 rubber at the front and rear.
Braking hardware consists of a 220 mm front disc brake and a 130 mm rear drum brake. The scooter has a 714 mm seat length, which Kinetic says is intended to provide a comfortable riding position.
Importantly, the new model continues with the all-metal bodywork that has been a defining feature of the DX. This allows Kinetic to retain the visual identity of the original scooter while integrating a substantially more modern electric drivetrain underneath.
Kinetic DX vs DX+
The updated range is available in two variants:
Variant | Battery | Ex-showroom price |
|---|---|---|
Kinetic DX 3 kWh | 3 kWh | Rs. 1,18,599 |
Kinetic DX+ 3.1 kWh | 3.1 kWh | Rs. 1,27,650 |
The DX+ 3.1 kWh gets the additional equipment and technology package, including telematics and the retractable charging cable, as part of the vehicle price.
Festive offers announced
Kinetic has also announced a festive promotional package for the updated DX range. Customers buying the DX 3 kWh can get a Rs. 2,000 benefit, while the DX+ gets a Rs. 3,000 benefit.
The offer additionally includes an Rs. 8,999 extended warranty on the DX+, a Rs. 5,000 Amazon cashback, and a Rs. 5,000 PME drive benefit.
Colour options
The DX+ 3.1 kWh will be available in five colours - Black, Silver, Blue, White, and Red. The standard DX 3 kWh, meanwhile, will be offered in Black and Silver.

Kinetic DX gets a bigger electric upgrade
The latest DX+ isn't a completely new scooter in terms of its basic identity. Instead, Kinetic has taken the familiar DX formula and concentrated on improving the areas that matter most to an electric scooter used every day - battery capacity, usable range, charging convenience, manoeuvrability, and practicality.
With the 3.1 kWh LFP battery, claimed 132 km IDC range, 3.8 kW motor, regenerative technology, quick charging, reverse function, 37-litre storage, and IP67 protection, the DX+ now combines its recognisable metal-bodied design with a considerably more feature-packed electric package.
For buyers looking for an electric scooter that mixes a familiar design with modern EV hardware, the upgraded Kinetic DX+ is clearly aimed at being a more capable everyday proposition rather than simply a cosmetic revival of the iconic name.
