Aprilia has today finally launched the all-new 2021 Aprilia SXR 160 BS6 in the Indian market. The all-new SXR 160 BS6 is the first maxi-scooter from Aprilia in the country. The Aprilia SXR 160 was first showcased in India earlier this year at the 2020 Auto Expo and it grabbed everyone's attention. Earlier, it was about to be launched in India by June 2020. But, all thanks to the deadly coronavirus, its launch was postponed due to the pandemic. But now, it's time to rejoice as Aprilia has finally launched this maxi-scooter in India. The price of the all-new 2021 Aprilia SXR 160 BS6 starts at Rs. 1.26 lakhs, Ex-showroom Pune and here we have for you all the details about it.

First of all, talking about the powertrain, so the new Aprilia SXR 160 shares the motor with the Aprilia SR 160 ABS. This means that it is powered by a BS6-compliant 160cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, three-valve, fuel-injected engine. The motor churns out 11 PS of maximum power at 7100 RPM and also 11 Nm of peak torque at 6000 RPM. The engine comes mated to a CVT. The braking duties on the scooter are performed by disc brakes at the front and a drum unit at the rear. The scooter gets a single-channel ABS too. For suspension duties, this maxi-scooter gets telescopic forks at the front and an adjustable spring-loaded mono-shock absorber at the rear. Also, it rides on 12-inch tubeless tyres.

Now, talking about the looks, so as the Aprilia SXR 160 is a maxi-scooter, it looks very handsome and has a macho appeal. At the front, it gets big twin LED headlamps with LED DRLs. It also gets a small blacked-out windscreen, LED tail lamps and even the turn indicators are LED units. Then, it gets a large scooped-out footboard area, a long and comfortable single-piece seat, etc. This new maxi-scooter also features sporty graphics on the body panels and all in all, the Aprilia SXR 160 looks really good. Now, talking about the features on offer, so the new Aprilia SXR 160 gets a large 5.7-inch all-digital instrument cluster. It displays a ton of information including speedometer, tachometer, etc. It gets an optional smartphone connectivity feature too and in a nutshell, the SXR 160 is a very feature-loaded maxi-scooter.
