VLF Mobster: What Is It?

What makes the Mobster stand out is its aggressive design paired with robust hardware. From the exposed handlebars and sharply contoured body to the tall, sporty windscreen, the scooter carries a futuristic and bold stance and is available in 2 variants, directly rivalling the Yamaha Aerox 155. Mechanically, the Mobster stays consistent across both variants. It rolls on chunky 12-inch wheels wrapped in 120-section front and 130-section rear tyres. A telescopic front fork and twin shock absorbers at the rear handle suspension duties, while braking is handled by disc brakes on both ends, backed by dual-channel switchable ABS. The scooter gets an 8-litre fuel tank, 797mm seat height, and 155mm ground clearance, numbers that make it fairly practical for urban and weekend riding. The VLF Mobster will initially be available in limited cities, but plans for wider network expansion are already in motion.

Feature-wise, the Mobster leans heavily into premium territory. It comes equipped with full LED lighting, a 5-inch TFT colour instrument cluster with mobile mirroring for navigation, a USB charging port, and even a factory-fitted integrated dash cam, something rarely seen on scooters, making it equipped with all the bells and whistels of a modern scooter, and this could also show-up in its pricing, which plays a very crucial role here in the Indian market.

Curious Case of Engine Options

Underneath the styling, however, are two distinct engine options: a 125cc liquid-cooled unit producing 12PS and 11.7Nm, and a more powerful 180cc liquid-cooled motor delivering 18PS and 15.7Nm. The latter is expected to clock a top speed of around 110kmph, matching the Yamaha Aerox 155, but with more performance on tap. The two variants simply differ in terms of the engine capacity, whereas everything else remains just as it is.
Pricing will be key to its success in India's price-sensitive market. Competitive estimates suggest the 125cc variant could be priced around Rs. 1.4 lakh, while the 180cc model may sit closer to Rs. 1.7 lakh (both ex-showroom).
